Online Magazine: Would you use Joomla or Flash for the web site?
The First Lady asked:
For an online magazine that will be updated regularly would you use Joomla or Flash?
I’ve worked with Joomla and Flash and both have pros and cons. I’d like feedback from other experienced developers on their preferences and why - also taking into consideration the visitors who will be accessing the site.
Ingredients on the site will include such things as : A news section, calendar of regular events, and sub-sections with varied information.
* I’d like the event calendar to allow users to add events freely but cannot determine how to acquire this function using flash.
Brian R - you have elaborated thoroughly with great info… how can I implement the Flash in the manner that you mentioned?

Joomla is easier to use!
Your question seems to be a bit confusing mainly because you’re comparing Joomla!, which is a content-management system, to Flash, which is a scripting language.
The two aren’t mutually exclusive, and you should be able to use a flash implementation with Joomla’s content management. Since Joomla works with SQL databases, it’s possible to manage your content with Joomla! while using Flash as a user interface.
Basically, they’re both used for entirely different purposes, and you aren’t required to choose between one or the other.
